Short Creek Homestead was founded in 2022 as we had a deep desire to expand our backyard city garden into a farming operation where we could provide chemical free produce to our family and community. We found the perfect location to farm in Marshall County, AL.Short Creek Homestead sits on 32 acres and is nestled on Sand Mountain in Albertville, AL. Our custom built log cabin has a gorgeous view of Short Creek with over 1700 feet of creek access that is perfect for a cool swim after a long day of farming.Short Creek Homestead farm practices are geared around permaculture, engaging all facets of the homestead to work together. We never use any chemicals, pesticides, fungicides or synthetic fertilizers to ensure we have nutrient abundant produce that is chemical free.We raise animals on our farm to provide our family and community with outstanding meat products. We raise American Guinea Hogs, Turkey's, and Cornish Cross Chickens. The animals are fed a Non-GMO feed that is corn and soy free and never any antibiotics. We enjoy raising animals here on our farm. Our Cornish Cross Broilers are raised on pasture in chicken tractors and are moved to fresh grass daily. Our pigs are raised in the forest where they enjoy foraging in their natural environment.Our farm features a diverse product line up that includes; Edible Flowers, Microgreens, Forested Pork, Pastured Chicken, Sprouts, Farm Fresh Eggs, Fruits and Vegetables. You can find us at farmers markets, local restaurants, or at our coming soon roadside farm stand. We would be thrilled to be your farmer!
